Expanded program offers up to $5,000 for six community projects in 2026.
The City of Kingston is expanding its Rural Community Program Fund after a successful pilot, offering more support for local initiatives in 2026.
The program will fund up to six projects with grants of as much as $5,000 each, aimed at boosting community spirit and attracting visitors to rural areas.
City officials say the fund is open to community groups, event organizers, volunteers and business partnerships with ideas ranging from festivals and concerts to nature walks and cultural events.
Craig Desjardins says the expansion reflects strong interest in rural programming and highlights opportunities to bring people together.
Applications close June 8 and will be reviewed based on community impact, feasibility, collaboration and tourism potential. More information is available through Get Involved Kingston.
