The event has surpassed the $4 million mark after raising close to $400K this year.
Mother nature had a hand in another successful Rose of Hope golf fundraiser.
The rain that was forecasted for much of Tuesday held up enough to get the more than 140 golfers on the course at Cataraqui Golf and Country Club in Kingston.
The day began with a proclomation from the City's Town Crier, Chris Whyman. Then it was a day of fun and golf, ending with a dinner and prizes.
Chair Sherri McCullough says the money raised from this year's event will go towards a pair of breast cancer research initiatives.
It was announced at the end of the evening that $390,000 was raised enabling the event to surpass the $4 million mark. $4.2 million has been raised in the 29 years of Rose of Hope.
McCullough says so much has been raised for breast cancer research and it has made a difference for patients in Kingston and Eastern Ontario.
Last year's event raised $285,000 for an MRI machine at Breast Imaging Kingston.
McCullough says that means more woman will be able to get screened so that docotrs can detect any cancers early.
