Bill Leggett was a world-renowned biologist and was the 17th principal and vice-chancellor at Queen's.
Former Queen's University Principal and Vice-Chancellor Bill Leggett has died.
Leggett passed away last Friday at the age of 86.
He became the school's 17th principal and vice-chancellor in 1994.
In his ten years at the helm, Leggett was credited with bringing new academic facilities and student residences to the campus. One of them was Leggett's Hall, named in his honour.
Before arriving at Queen's, Leggett was a world renowned biologist focusing on the dynamics of fish populations.
In 2001, he received the Order of Canada.
Flags at Queen's were flown at half-mast on Wednesday in honour of Leggett.
