Brandon Perry returns to Kingston as the Gaels’ 13th head coach after a championship coaching career.
Queen’s Athletics & Recreation has named former Gaels player Brandon Perry as the 13th head coach of the Queen’s men’s hockey team. Perry, a Queen’s alumnus, played 101 games for the Gaels between 2008 and 2013, finishing his final season as an assistant captain.
He returns after spending five years as head coach and general manager of the Timmins Rock in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. During his time there, Perry led the team to an NOJHL championship in 2023, three straight Eastern Conference titles from 2022 to 2024, and a league finals appearance in 2026. Coach Perry shares his priorities stepping into his coach role.
He was also named NOJHL Coach of the Year in 2021-22 and served as an assistant coach with Team Canada’s under-19 program in 2024.
Perry says he is honoured to return to the university that helped shape him and looks forward to helping student-athletes succeed on the ice, in the classroom and in the community. He begins the role Aug. 10.
