ORIGINAL STORY:

Kingston Police are investigating a pair of drive-by shootings near the University District.

They received reports about a black vehicle, possibly a Ford, with four occupants inside around the Russell St and Patrick St, and Palace Rd and Park St areas Tuesday during the noon hour.

Constable Anthony Colangeli says two pedestrians were struck by projectiles being fired from a long-gun-style air-soft rifle.

He says the two victims suffered injuries as a result but wouldn't go into the extent of those injuries.

Colangeli says the Criminal Investigations Branch has taken over the investigation.

He says they are trying to determine whether the two incidents are connected.

Colangeli adds the weapon used in these shootings are designed to look like a real firearm.

There is no description of the suspects at this time.

They say anyone who sees the suspect vehicle to not approach it. In addition, anyone who sees any suspicious activity or has dashcam or security video of the two incidents should contact 9-1-1 immediately.
