OPP say there have been no fatalities, and injuries reported so far are considered non-life-threatening.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to more than 120 collisions across eastern Ontario between noon and 4 p.m. Sunday as slippery roads caused widespread problems for drivers.
Most crashes involved vehicles sliding off the road, while several others involved multiple vehicles. Fortunately, police say there have been no fatalities, and injuries reported so far are considered non-life-threatening.
Some temporary lane closures were reported on Highways 417 and 401 while crews cleared the scenes.
Drivers are urged to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns as conditions remain slick overnight.
Motorists can stay updated on road and weather conditions by tuning into local radio stations or visiting 511on.ca or municipal511.ca.
Police say driver caution will be key to preventing more crashes as temperatures continue to drop.
