Investigators say a 28-year-old died after an incident involving inmates.
The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating the death of an inmate following an incident at Millhaven Institution in Bath.
Police say the incident involving inmates happened Sunday, May 3, at about 5:10 p.m. One inmate suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
The inmate has been identified as 28-year-old Darian Daignault. He died in hospital on Tuesday, May 5.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is being led by the OPP Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
Investigators are also working with the Office of the Chief Coroner, the Forensic Pathology Service, and Correctional Service Canada.
