A report is expect to go to Council recommending that the project be put on hold.
Plans on a new inflatable water park at the Flora MacDonald Confederation Basin in Kingston appear to have hit a road block.
A staff report that will be delivered to Council on Tuesday reveals that the City of Kingston were not able to reach a deal with the Patry Group of Companies on the naming rights.
Patry had proposed a $1 million in-kind donation in exchange for the naming rights for the next 20 years.
Mayor Bryan Paterson tells Reid and Ben of FLY FM that negotiations simply fell through.
Without the donation, staff are recommending that the inflatable water park be shelved.
But Paterson says plans for other sections of the park will remain.
The report comes as the City is dealing with a number of financial pressures.
Paterson says he can't give a timeline as to when work will get underway.
The report also suggests moving the proposed water park to Grass Creek Park.
