6,500 of the coins was produced in honour of the 150th anniversary of Royal Military College of Canada.
The Royal Military College of Canada celebrated their birthday with a commemorative coin.
The Royal Canadian Mint is issuing a new 20-dollar coin that was officially unveiled inside Currie Hall on the RMC campus on Monday.
Capt. Joel Breton says they had several ideas to commemorate the college's 150th anniversary.
The coin is made with one ounce of 99.99 percent pure silver. One side features the RMC clock tower, the other side has a portrait of King Charles III.
Breton says the coin symbolizes the contributions that the graduates of RMC have made to Canada.
Some of the more well-known graduates of RMC are Col. Chris Hadfield and Col. Jeremy Hansen.
Breton says while the college is to help train the next generation of Canadian Forces members, they do prepare people for fields outside the military.
6,500 of the commemorative coins is being produced. It can be purchased through the Royal Canadian Mint at a cost of $239.95.
