14-year-old Klaira Peters was found safe Friday night by police in Peel Region.
It was a nerve wracking moment for Kassandra Williamson and her family as they were looking for her missing daughter.
14-year-old Klaira Peters was found safe in Peel Region last Friday, almost one week since she disappeared after going to the YMCA in Kingston.
Williamson says the ordeal was hard on her family.
As the days went by and not a word from Klaira, Williamson hired a private investigator in an effort to locate her. Williamson's niece started a Go Fund Me account to help cover the cost of retaining the services of the investigator.
Then she finally got a call from police letting her know that Klaira was found safe and was on her way back home.
Williamson could not thank those enough who helped in the search.
As for the money that was collected through Go Fund Me, Williamson says she doesn't mind if people ask for their money back.
But she says what is left of the more than $21,000 raised will help cover the cost of not only the private investigator but also help with Klaira's mental health.
An arrest was made in connection to Klaira's disappearance. Williamson says Peel Region Police were able to provide her with some information but would not say much else about the investigation.
