Additional firearm-related charges laid following off-duty investigation.
Kingston police say an Ottawa Police Service officer is facing additional charges following an investigation into off-duty incidents.
In March 2026, Kingston police were asked by Ottawa police to continue an investigation into one of their members. The officer had already been arrested and charged with one count of assault and one count of criminal harassment.
Police say the accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and was scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
After further investigation, Kingston police say they found grounds to lay more charges. The officer was re-arrested on April 27 and charged with careless use of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.
The accused has again been released on an undertaking with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
Police say no further details will be released to protect privacy and the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
