Canadian Army Reserve training to bring increased military vehicle traffic through the region.
Residents in Kingston may notice increased military vehicle traffic along Highway 401 as part of upcoming training by the Canadian Armed Forces.
The military says Canadian Army Reserve personnel regularly conduct transport and supply convoys across Ontario highways, including routes to and from Garrison Petawawa.
Such exercises are part of routine preparedness training, allowing troops to practise moving personnel and equipment between locations. Previous large-scale exercises have involved hundreds to more than a thousand reservists travelling in organized vehicle groups across major corridors like Highway 401.
Military officials say convoys typically follow standard traffic laws, travel in smaller groupings and may stop briefly for rest or maintenance.
Drivers are advised to use caution, keep a safe distance and avoid cutting between military vehicles during these movements.
