People may have been exposed at three different locations in Kingston.
Southeast Public Health is investigating potential exposures linked to a confirmed measles case in Kingston.
The health unit says people may have been exposed at GoodLife Fitness, 64 Barrack St., on Feb. 9 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Queen’s University Kingston Hall, 103 Stuart St., on Feb. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and Metro, 310 Barrie St., on Feb. 13 from 4:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Officials urge residents who were at those locations during the listed times to check their vaccination records. Two doses of measles vaccine or lab proof of immunity are required for protection.
Those not fully vaccinated should monitor for symptoms and isolate at home for 21 days after exposure. Symptoms can include high fever, cough, runny nose, red watery eyes and a blotchy red rash.
Measles spreads easily through the air and can linger on surfaces for up to two hours. Infants, pregnant individuals and those with weakened immune systems face higher risks of severe complications.
