Breakfast and lunch will be served from a new cube van that will be parked on Wellington St across from the church.
Lunch by George will be taking their meal distribution service on the road.
They unveiled a new mobile van on Monday that they will be serving breakfast and lunch to needy people from now on. It will replace the pick up window that they had at St. George's Cathedral for the last 40 years.
Chief Administrator Tom Ivison says the vehicle makes it a more convenient way to hand out the food.
The vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cube van donated by Mercedes-Benz Kingston. The program is also being supported by the City of Kingston, United Way KFL&A and St. Lawrence College.
Ivison says the van is big enough to carry the meals from the kitchen at the college.
He says it comes in handy when the weather gets cold.
The van will be parked on Wellington St near Johnson St right behind St. George's Cathedral with plans to move it to a different location in the city.
Lunch by George had moved their breakfast and lunch program from the church to St. Lawrence College where they prepare the meals from a larger, commercially-sized kitchen.
Last year, St. George's Cathedral announced that they were ending their partnership with Outreach St. George's Kingston on their food distribution program.
