Up to 600 fewer people showed up for this year's event.

Despite attendance being down from last year, the organizer of this year's Line Spike music festival is pleased with the way it turned out.

There were an estimated 1,000 people that attended the two-day event near Harrowsmith on the final weekend of June. That according to producer Jeremy Campbell is down by 500 to 600 from last year's festival.

Campbell says there were a number of factors that contributed to the decline in attendance.

Campbell announced during the second day of the show that he is allowing people to come and pay what they want.

He says those who already paid for tickets were completely understandable.

This year's festival featured headliners Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk (pictured) plus Kingston's Miss Emily, Will & Co, I the Mountain, and the Devin Cuddy Band.

It was an ideal summer weekend and patrons were allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages to the event.

Overall, Campbell feels everyone had a great time at the event though he had hoped to break even. Last year, he ended up $225,000 in the red.

He says the plan is to hold another festival in 2027.

Campbell thanked everyone that came to the festival especially the volunteers who took some of their time out of their busy lives to help out.
