Local students complete Summer Company program with business pitches, mentorship and startup support.
Kingston’s young entrepreneurs are getting a chance to showcase the businesses they built over the summer.
Kingston Economic Development is hosting its annual Summer Company Showcase today, where participants will present their ventures in a tradeshow-style setting and pitch their business ideas.
The event also marks the completion of the Summer Company program, with participating students receiving certificates for successfully finishing the program.
Funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered by Kingston Economic Development, Summer Company supports entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 29. The program provides business training, mentorship and startup funding to help young people launch and operate their own businesses during the summer.
Kingston Economic Development CEO Donna Gillespie and Business Development Manager Norman Musengimana are among those attending, alongside this year’s Summer Company participants.
The event highlights the work of young entrepreneurs and the businesses they developed through the program.
