Residents can put unwanted items to the curb where people can take them home for free.
Kingston residents have one more opportunity to give unwanted items a new lease on life.
The City is holding their final Giveaway Day of 2026 this Saturday. Giveaway Day is a way to keep items out of landfills while allowing bargain hunters to save money on things that they need.
Residents can put out things like books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, furniture, small appliances, electronics, construction materials (including drywall, lumber, hardware), kitchen gadgets, dishes, cutlery, and utensils.
Items that are deemed inappropriate for giveaway day include: baby walkers, cribs, car seats, strollers, playpens, bath seats, mattresses, blinds and toys.
The items are to be put on the curb with a sign that says 'FREE' on it.
The City says any unclaimed items left at 6 pm must be brought back into the home. They also ask that people looking for items to respect other people's property.
