Community organizations invited to apply for grants to address homelessness, public safety and service gaps.
The City of Kingston is inviting community organizations to apply for a new funding program aimed at supporting innovative projects that improve public safety, address homelessness-related challenges and strengthen community well-being.
The Community Harm Reduction and Public Safety Pilot Project Funding Program will provide up to $350,000 in one-time funding for community-led initiatives. Eligible organizations can apply for grants of up to $70,000.
The city says the funding is intended to support new organizations, new services or new service delivery models that complement existing community supports. Proposed projects should help connect people to homelessness services, support recovery-oriented approaches, improve accessibility and inclusion, and address identified service gaps.
Applications are open to registered non-profit organizations, registered charities and volunteer organizations from July 2 to July 22.
An independent review panel led by United Way KFL&A will assess submissions using a standardized scoring matrix. Successful applicants will be notified by Aug. 14, and funded projects must be completed by Sept. 30, 2027.
