Jessica Power won the DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modified division in Charlotte, NC over the weekend.
Kingston's Jessica Power finally realized her dream in her racing career this past Sunday at The Dirt Track at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
Power claimed the win in the DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modified division Sunday night, after finishing second in the event in 2024.
In a race that was delayed by one day, Power started on the outside of the front row in the 25 lap event and appeared to have the race in hand, building up a three second lead until a caution flag flew on lap 18, which bunched up the field for a final restart.
When the green flew, Power was able to hold off former World Short Track Champion Kevin Ridley to score her first ever win at the speedway.
Power also made history becoming just the second female competitor in the 10 year history of the event to claim a championship feature win.
The historic and biggest win of her career also brought along a $5,000 pay day for the team.
