Kingston Police's Traffic Safety Unit along with the Ministry of Transportation held an enforcement blitz on commercial motor vehicles last Wednesday.
In a news release, the enforcement initiatives play an important role in improving road safety, promoting compliance within the commercial transportation industry, and reducing the risk of collisions caused by unsafe vehicles and operators.
30 of the vehicles were stopped and inspected on Wednesday, nine were removed after major defects and critical violations were discovered.
There were 14 provincial offense notices plus a number of warnings issued during the blitz.
Kingston Police had several of their newest constables on hand to assist in the inspection of the vehicles.
