Nominations are open until Oct. 10 at 4 p.m.
The City of Kingston is calling on residents to nominate community members, groups and businesses for the 2025 Celebrating Accessibility Awards.
The awards recognize actions that make life more inclusive for people with disabilities by removing barriers in areas such as customer service, education, health care, employment, transportation, and the built environment.
“Accessibility matters to our residents and to the City’s work,” said Deputy Clerk Derek Ochej. “When you nominate someone, you’re helping share stories about the good work people are doing to make their neighbours feel seen, supported and included.”
Nominees must live, work or operate in Kingston and have made a positive impact in the last three years. Those in paid accessibility-related roles are only eligible if they’ve demonstrated an exceptional achievement.
Nominations can be submitted online at CityofKingston.ca/Awards or in person at City Hall. The deadline is Oct. 10 at 4 p.m.
Award recipients will be honoured Dec. 1, 2025.
