Grocery prices rising and new tariffs making food even more expensive,
The Partners in Mission Food Bank is asking for help this summer as food donations tend to drop when the weather gets warmer.
With grocery prices rising and new tariffs making food even more expensive, the Kingston food bank says this is a tough time for many families. They're encouraging residents to give what they can — or even host a food drive.
If you're planning a summer event, the food bank will help by providing barrels, bins and signage to collect food. Details are available at kingstonfoodbank.ca, or you can call 613-544-4100.
Food donations are also welcome year-round at several local stores, including Bearance’s Grocery, Metro, No Frills, Food Basics, Fresh Co., Loblaws, and Van Wart’s Independent Grocer.
The Kingston Food Bank has been supporting people in need since 1984 and continues to rely on the kindness of the community. (Word count: 155)
