Limestone’s Student and Family Support Office is now part of a provincewide expansion aimed at helping families find answers faster.
The Limestone District School Board is highlighting its Student and Family Support Office as Ontario expands the service to all 72 school boards.
The office gives Limestone students and families another point of contact when education-related questions or concerns are complex, or when families are unsure where to turn for help.
Limestone Director of Education Krishna Burra says the office helps families navigate the education system and connect with appropriate supports and services.
Schools remain the first point of contact for most questions and concerns. The support office is intended to complement existing school-based services, rather than replace them.
Under the provincial initiative, offices are expected to acknowledge inquiries within two business days and aim to provide answers within five business days.
The Ministry of Education will also collect information from school boards to identify trends in family concerns and improve processes.
