SnapCab showcases 25 years of people-first manufacturing with book launch and facility tours in Kingston.

SnapCab opened its Kingston facility to media on Wednesday for an open house and book launch highlighting its people-first business model.

The Kingston, Ontario manufacturer also marked the launch of A Human Business by founder and CEO Glenn Bostock, published by Forbes Books.

Bostock explains what a "Human Business" is.

The event focused on workplace engagement challenges in Canada, where recent research suggests only about one in five employees are engaged at work.

President and CFO Sahiza Hossenbaccus explains a key element.

SnapCab leaders said their approach treats the company as a 'human business' that emphasizes purpose, usefulness and treating employees as essential contributors.

It says its goal is to be useful to customers, employees and the community, with profit serving as a tool rather than the goal.

Bostock says he originally wrote the book for his employees after he retired in the future.

Hossenbaccus says that they want to share this business model.

The open house concluded with book signings, live music and networking, giving visitors a closer look at the company's culture and future direction in manufacturing sector.
