University Hospitals Kingston Foundation will visit neighbourhoods across the city to recruit monthly donors supporting local hospitals.
The University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) is launching a door-to-door campaign next week to encourage more residents to support local health care through monthly donations.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 10, trained canvassers will visit neighbourhoods across Kingston until Aug. 15, inviting residents to become monthly donors for Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care. Senior development officer Krista Ellis-Smith, explains the goal.
The foundation says monthly donations provide reliable funding for new medical equipment, staff education and innovative programs that benefit patients across southeastern Ontario. Ellis-Smith explains the importance of these tools.
UHKF currently has 175 new monthly donors and hopes to reach 500 by the end of the year.
The campaign is being conducted by fundraising organization GlobalFaces Direct. Representatives will carry official identification, and residents can verify a canvasser's identity by calling 1-833-341-0106.
UHKF says donations will be processed securely using encrypted tablets that meet Payment Card Industry security standards.
