Kingston Economic Development Corporation has received two international awards recognizing its work supporting businesses and promoting Kingston’s economy.

The organization received a Gold Award for its Succession Ontario program and a Silver Award for its Kingston Company Spotlight campaign from the International Economic Development Council.

Succession Ontario won gold in the Business Retention and Expansion category. The provincial program, delivered by Kingston Economic Development with $1.9 million in Ontario government funding, helps small-business owners plan for the future.

The program offers free online resources, planning tools, a business valuation tool and one-on-one advisory support. It recorded more than 58,000 website interactions in its first five months.

Kingston Company Spotlight received silver in the Digital Media category. The 2025 campaign featured local businesses on social media for 46 consecutive weeks. On LinkedIn, it generated more than 64,900 impressions and reached an estimated 32,460 people.

Succession Ontario is also one of 15 nominees for IEDC’s Best in Show Award, which will be announced in October.
