Kingston highlights impact of local volunteers as part of nationwide recognition from April 19 to 25.
The City of Kingston is recognizing the contributions of local volunteers during National Volunteer Week, celebrating the impact of residents who give their time to support the community.
Running from April 19 to 25, the week honours volunteers across Kingston who help deliver programs, events and services throughout the year. City officials say these efforts strengthen connections and improve quality of life for residents.
The recognition comes during International Volunteer Year, highlighting the importance of civic participation and encouraging more people to get involved.
Anthony Amodeo, the City’s corporate volunteer management program lead, says volunteers play a key role in bringing the community together and creating a more welcoming environment.
The City notes volunteers can choose from a wide range of opportunities, while also gaining skills, staying active and building connections.
Residents interested in volunteering can find more information through the City’s website.
