More than $171,000 is available through two City of Kingston Arts Fund programs, including a new grant for artists developing work.
Kingston artists and arts organizations can now apply for more than $171,000 in funding through the City of Kingston Arts Fund.
The Kingston Arts Council is accepting applications for 2026 Project Grants and the new Creation & Development Grants.
Executive director Nicole Daniels explains more.
The new program will provide $3,000 to $10,000 to professional artists working in any discipline to create, develop or complete new work. Unlike Project Grants, the funding does not focus on public presentation. Daniels says the goal is to help more artists careers.
Project Grants range from $3,000 to $12,000 and support time-limited projects that involve public participation and community engagement.
The changes are part of a new funding framework approved by Kingston city council in November 2025.
A total of $738,000 is available through the fund this year, with $567,170 already awarded through Operating and Festival Grants.
Applications for both programs are due Sept. 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
