TerrorBytes and Pixelites will be in Toronto this Saturday.
Students from a Kingston school will be putting their Minecraft skills to use in a provincial competition.
Two teams from King's Town School are going to be competing in the Ontario Scholastic Esports Association Minecraft Provincial Championship in Toronto.
The Pixelites and TerrorBytes will be up against 16 other teams comprised of students in grades five to eight from across Ontario at Humber Polytechnic this Saturday.
Teacher Joshua Dickie says the students can't wait for the competition to start.
In order to qualify for the tournament, teams were tasked to design a winter parkour similar to one at the Winter Olympic games.
Both the Pixelites and TerrorBytes worked on their designs using the Minecraft video game and were eventually selected to take part in the provincial championships.
Dickie says the students put in a lot of their time into their respective projects.
Teams will participate in four build challenges throughout the day, with medal presentations taking place in the afternoon.
The winning group will not only receive the gold medal, they will also get a one-week stay at Muskoka Woods camp near Parry Sound.
