SportsHeadz donated over $22,000 after helping with hockey tournament.
Kids for Kids received a big boost from a Kingston business.
SportsHeadz, a web-based tool for youth sports tournaments and organizations, delivered a cheque for $22,380 to organizers Garry McColman and Brian Hackett on Wednesday. The money will go support BGC Southeast, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kingston General Hospital, and other local charities.
SportsHeadz President Dave McMullen says it was great to help Kids for Kids organize their annual minor hockey tournament in March.
SportsHeadz helped set up the website for the tournament where teams can register as well as arrange accomodations.
McMullen says they have been focusing on the event side of their business for the last five years.
He says his business has helped tournaments like Kids for Kids reduce the amount of work in organizing the event.
McMullen says it has been great working with Kids for Kids and is looking forward to next year's tournament.
This past tournament saw close to 200 teams from across Ontario and Quebec come to Kingston.
