Snap some pics of your backyard or a local park!
The City of Kingston is taking part in City Nature Challenge and they want residents to help them get to the top.
Starting this Friday, people are being encourage to share their photos of nature whether it be in their backyard, local park, or conservation area.
In a news release, the City Nature Challenge is being described as a friendly competition to see which community can upload and share the most photos observing nature.
Kingston is one of 43 Canadian cities in the contest.
They will also be part of a Canadian collaborative to see who can track the highest number of wildlife observations.
People can upload their photos through iNaturalist platform (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2025-city-of-kingston) from April 25 to 28 to participate in the challenge.
The photos will then become part of an international database of biodiversity.
