The incumbent won in a landslide with 90 percent of the vote.
Experience and wisdom may have helped give Jimmy Hassan another term on Kingston City Council.
The incumbent won the Trillium seat in Monday's municipal election.
Hassan says he is grateful for the people who voted for him, which was 90 percent of the 3,722 ballots that were cast in the district. He believes the residents have faith in him to respresent them and bring their concerns to council.
Having gone through a term of council, he says that gave him the knowledge of what to expect for this election.
Hassan adds there were so many people in the district that were engaged in the process and were aware about the issues affecting the city. He says this will help council make better decisions.
Hassan says this new council will have an opportunity to make Kingston a better city for everyone.
Hassan has worked new mayor Conny Glenn while she was councillor during the last term of office.
He says they don't necessarily agree with everything but have a mutual respect for each other.
Hassan and the rest of council will be officially sworn-in on November 24.
