Kingston-born Don Cherry had said on his podcast that Monday's episode was his last.
Don Cherry is apparently NOT hanging up the mic.
The 91-year-old hockey coach turned broadcaster had said on his podcast that Monday's episode was his last.
Those on social media reacted with sadness believing that he meant it would be the last time hockey fans would hear his voice.
But according to Toronto Sun columnist Joe Warmington, Cherry meant to say he was done for the season and will be back in October when the NHL season resumes.
The Kingston-born Cherry has been doing his weekly hockey podcast since being fired by Sportsnet from his popular Coach's Corner segment on Hockey Night in Canada in 2019.
In Monday's episode, he and his son, Tim, talked about the recent Stanley Cup Final won by the Florida Panthers and shared stories about Don's time as a player and coach.
