Province says North Frontenac stormwater project will help protect homes and support future growth.
The Ontario government says more than $14 million is being invested in housing-enabling infrastructure projects across Lanark and Frontenac counties, including funding for a stormwater project in Plevna.
The province announced May 8 that the Township of North Frontenac will receive $1.022 million through the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Health and Safety Water Stream.
Officials say the funding will support the rehabilitation, repair and expansion of the village’s stormwater management system. The province says the upgrades will improve resilience and help protect 35 homes.
Most of the regional funding will go to Smiths Falls for watermain upgrades and sewer separation work.
John Jordan said investments in water infrastructure are important for supporting growing communities and strengthening local economies across the region.
