OPP say a woman is dead after exiting a vehicle that struck the centre median.
One person is dead following a collision on the 401 in Kingston.
Investigators with Frontenac OPP say a woman was struck by an oncoming vehicle in the westbound lanes on Wednesday night.
Emergency crews went to an area between Division St and Montreal St around 7 pm where they located a vehicle that had struck the centre median.
Investigators say the driver was struck after exiting the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. They identified the deceased as a 56-year-old woman.
The section of the westbound 401 was closed to traffic as members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team were brought in to assist in the investigation. It reopened just before 5 am.
Investigators are appealing to those who may have witnessed the incident, or have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision, to contact Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
