City reminds property owners that late payments could lead to penalties.
The City of Kingston says interim property taxes are due Friday, Feb. 27, and is urging property owners to pay on time to avoid penalties.
The city says property taxes are a key source of revenue and help fund essential municipal services across the community.
Officials note that failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse property owners from making a payment or from penalties for late payment.
Residents who have not received their interim bill, or who want information about enrolling in the city’s Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, can call 613-546-0000 Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Property owners are also encouraged to register with MyTax through MyKingston.ca. The online portal provides access to electronic billing and other tax account details. An access code, located on the front of the interim tax bill, is required to register.
More information about property taxes is available here.
