“Promise to Prepare” encourages Ontarians to create a plan that protects furry family members.
The Ontario SPCA is reminding families to include pets in emergency plans during Emergency Preparedness Week, which runs May 1–10. The “Promise to Prepare” campaign encourages Ontarians to create a plan that protects furry family members in the event of disasters like fires, floods, or storms.
By visiting ontariospca.ca/ep, participants can enter to win a pet first aid kit and get a free digital 72-hour Emergency Preparedness Workbook to build a pet survival kit. The SPCA is also offering free emergency decals for your front door and wallet cards to alert first responders that you have pets who need care.
Residents can pick up decals and wallet cards while supplies last.
Officials say being ready can save lives—and pets should never be left out of the plan. Every second counts in an emergency.
