The City has put out a survey to engagement public input on the matter.
Potholes are not just a problem on city streets.
Many parking lots, driveways, and lanes in Kingston have pavements that are cracked and too bumpy for vehicles to drive on.
Kingston City Council passed a motion on April 1 directing staff to review potential amendments to the Property Standards By-law.
In a news release, the City says repairs currently only meet the minimum standards and it is causing a recurring pattern of the same issue.
Staff are recommending that more permanent solutions rather than temporary, short-term measures.
They include requiring surface repairs to be consistent with the original materials, and enforcing a 14-day repair timeline once a formal Order of Remedy is issued.
The City has put out a survey to engagement public input on the matter.
That survey can be accessed by going to the City's website. (https://getinvolved.cityofkingston.ca/driveway-surface-repair-standards)
Property owners, business owners, and contractors are also being invited to take part in a meeting happening at the East Community Centre on June 2.
