Over 4 acres of land will be on the market once City Council declares it surplus.
A 'For Sale' sign will soon be posted outside the Kingston Area Recycling Centre (KARC).
The City of Kingston issued a news release on Friday announcing that they are seeking to declare the property on Lappin's Lane as well as the one next door that serves as the Hazardous Household Waste drop-off site surplus.
The declaration is needed in order for the City to sell off the two sites which covers a total of 4.03 acres of land.
The City says the disposition of the properties are due to the recycling program now being handled by a third party.
Circular Materials Ontario took over the program from the City on July 1.
Household hazardous waste drop off and other waste diversion programs have been moved to a location across the street from KARC.
A motion to declare the property surplus will be presented to City Council at their August 12th meeting.
