Conny Glenn says housing and affordability is her top priorities.
A Kingston city councillor is taking a stab at becoming the city's next mayor.
Sydenham District Councillor Conny Glenn has submitted her nomination papers to run for the top seat on council this October.
Glenn is in her first term as a city councillor and feels the time is right to seek the mayor's position.
Glenn is the second announced mayoral candidate after Stephen Cuthbertson. Current mayor Bryan Paterson has not yet announced whether he will seek a fourth term as mayor.
Glenn says it has always been her desire to run for mayor regardless of whether Paterson enters the race or not.
Glenn's platform will include addressing housing and affordability which she says will be more aggressive under her watch.
Other issues that Glenn wants to tackle are physician recruitment, public safety, and economic development.
She says Kingston is becoming an economic driver in the region and wants to take advantage of the resources that they have.
Glenn is also adamant on resolving the LaSalle Causeway bridge.
Meanwhile, there is another name added in the race to replace Glenn as Sydenham District Councillor. Rajesh Kumar is the third candidate since nominations were opened on May 1.
