Kingston Transit riders will return to a newly upgraded transfer point featuring improved shelters, lighting and signage.
Kingston Transit riders will soon be able to use the newly upgraded Cataraqui Centre Transfer Point.
The transfer point will officially reopen on Saturday, June 20, following construction that added modern transit stations designed to improve the customer experience. The upgraded site includes weather protection, improved lighting and new signage to help riders navigate the transit hub more easily.
As part of the change, the temporary transfer point on the north side of Cataraqui Centre, near LL Bean and H&M, will permanently close at the end of service on June 19.
Kingston Transit says the improvements are intended to provide a safer, more comfortable and more convenient space for passengers using one of the city's busiest transfer locations.
Officials thanked riders for their patience throughout the construction period and encouraged anyone with questions about their trip to contact Kingston Transit customer service at 613-546-0000.
The reopening marks the completion of the latest transit infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving public transportation across Kingston.
