BGC South East hopes to raise a record $160,000 to send 650 local children to summer camp.
The annual May fundraising campaign supporting local children and youth is returning with a new name and its biggest fundraising goal yet.
BGC South East officially launched the 2026 Reg Shadbolt May Campaign on May 1.
Director and Resource Development and Communications, Amanda Guarino explains more about the cam
The campaign was renamed to honour Reg Shadbolt, a founding member of the club in the 1990s and a longtime supporter of youth programs.
This year’s goal is to raise a record $160,000 to help 650 children attend summer camp without financial barriers. The organization says rising food, fuel and transportation costs are increasing pressure on programs and services.
Guarino says the need has grown since last year.
BGC South East now supports more than 6,400 youth each year and provides more than 230,000 meals annually. The group has also expanded with new STEM and education centres in Brockville and Kemptville.
Officials say donations raised in each community will stay local to support area children and youth.
More information is available through BGC South East.
