Holiday schedule changes and free family events planned across the city.
City of Kingston and Utilities Kingston schedules will change for the Family Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 16.
There will be no green bin or garbage collection Monday. Pick-up will move to the day after residents’ regular collection day. The leaf and yard waste drop-off site will be closed.
Kingston Transit will run on a Sunday schedule, while the administrative office will be closed. Kingston Access Bus will operate with limited service. City administrative offices, including Housing and Social Services and Provincial Offences Court, will also be closed.
Utilities Kingston offices will be closed, but its 24-hour emergency line will remain available.
Several recreation facilities will be open with special programming. The INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, Rideau Heights Community Centre and Kingston East Community Centre will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Most grocery stores will be open on Family Day with an earlier close. While most LCBO's and Beer Store's will be closed.
