The Kingston Police Service is bringing back its popular Citizens Police Academy, a free seven-week program designed to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at local policing.
Running every Thursday from Feb. 20 to April 3, 2025, the program covers topics like patrol duties, traffic services, forensic investigations, and even canine operations. Sessions are held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Applicants must be 18 or older, Canadian citizens, and Kingston residents. A free criminal record check is required. With just 16 spots available, participants will be chosen through a lottery system.
Applications are due by Feb. 7, 2025. Interested residents should apply early to secure their chance to learn about Kingston Police operations and interact with officers and community partners.
