The Kingston Frontenacs will have to take the usual route to get to the Memorial Cup in 2027.
The OHL team announced on Thursday that they were not one of the finalists to host the Canadian Hockey League championship tournament.
The tournament will be in an OHL city in 2027 and Kingston was in the running along with Guelph and Kitchener.
In a news release, the team says one area that their bid lacked was the video scoreboard and other digital assets at Slush Puppie Place that were deemed necessary by the league to hold the tournament.
They go on to say that they are working with the City of Kingston to address this issue in the future.
Last month, City Council passed a motion giving their full endorsement in the team's 2027 Memorial Cup tournament host bid.
