Police looking for help identifying thief
Kingston Police are investigating the theft of musical instruments from a vehicle parked in a downtown lot.
Investigators were called to the third level of the Chown Memorial Parking Lot on Brock St. early Sunday morning.
They arrived to find a van with the rear passenger side and rear windows smashed.
Investigators say someone broke into the vehicle and stole a Hyvibe acoustic guitar, a Fender jazz bass guitar, a Ludwig snare drum, and a '66 Ludwig Hi Tom drum.
There were also several guitar cables and patch cords, hard- and soft-shell guitar cases, a Boss chromatic tuner and a red leather bag containing 4 XLR microphone cables.
In all, the total value of the items is approximately $7,530.
Investigators were able to obtain video surveillance and are looking for a suspect connected with the theft.
The suspect was seen wearing a black hooded sweater, a blue flannel jacket, and grey camouflage pants with a grey cross body satchel and a large black and grey backpack.
Anyone with information on this is asked to contact Kingston Police at 613-549-4660, ext. 0.
