Two people are facing charges.
Kingston Police say a routine patrol led to the arrest of two people and the discovery of drug trafficking items inside a stolen vehicle.
On July 18, a patrol officer spotted a damaged vehicle near Division Street, just south of the 401. A check confirmed it had been reported stolen two days earlier. While on scene, police say a second person entered the vehicle.
Police arrested both individuals for possession of stolen property. A further search of the car uncovered more stolen goods and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
A 36-year-old with no fixed address faces charges including possession of stolen property over and under $5,000 and two counts of breaching probation.
A 37-year-old from Belleville was also charged with similar offences, plus breaching a release order.
Both were taken to Kingston Police headquarters and held for bail hearings.
Police say the investigation highlights the importance of proactive patrols in catching ongoing criminal activity.
