Ground officially broke on the 18,000 sq. ft. expansion in Kingston on Thursday.
Work is starting on the expansion of one of Kingston's largest manufacturers.
SnapCab officially broke ground on an 18,000 sq. ft. addition to their existing 36,000 sq. ft. building on Railway St on Thursday.
Founder and CEO Glenn Bostock says they have come a long way since it first opened in 2011.
There were 5 employees when SnapCab began operations, they expect to have 45 once work on the addition is complete.
Bostock says one of their more popular products is a video booth developed for prisons.
The company received a $900,00 grant from FedDev Ontario back in March for the expansion.
There was also support from Kingston Economic Development Corporation who co-hosted the media conference at the facility.
Bostock says getting support from all levels of government is helping his business through the uncertain economic climate.
Work on the addition is expected to be finished by early 2026.
