Jeff McLaren was victorious in his bid to retain the Meadowbrook-Strathcona seat.
Jeff McLaren is very optimistic of the next four years at Kingston City Council.
The Meadowbrook-Strathcona councillor was able to hold on to his seat at Monday's (26th) municipal election.
McLaren says he is still feeling excited of his election victory.
McLaren was also glad that Conny Glenn was elected as the new mayor of Kingston.
He says she will provide the leadership on council that no one has experienced before.
With the new council set to be sworn in on November 24, McLaren hopes they will be able to build on what was established in the previous term.
McLaren won with more than 50 percent of the vote, 327 votes more than his closest challenger Daria Juudi-Hope.
