Ford talks Trump, trade and growth.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford says the province is heading into 2026 with new confidence after a year of global uncertainty and tough talks with the United States.
Ford recently reflected on how Donald Trump’s return to the White House changed the tone of trade talks one year ago.
Ford said Ontario learned to adapt and is now focused on what it can control, including working with other provinces and Ottawa to break down trade barriers and strengthen the Canadian economy.
He compared the moment to the early days of the pandemic, when governments put politics aside to move forward together.
Ford also pointed to nearly $28 billion in new investments and 57,000 jobs as proof Ontario’s economy remains strong.
